The sample was tested in consumer goods TestAll mode using a Niton XL3t 700S for 60 seconds. Multiple tests were taken to confirm the results. Results are rounded to the nearest whole number.
Test Summary:
Very trace levels of cadmium and antimony were detected in the glass. We do not have a leaching concern with trace heavy metals in glass.
No lead or other elements of interest were detected.
Reusable straws help protect the environment by reducing the amount of waste due to disposable plastic straws.
We think reusable glass straws are a great option and we appreciate the durability and thickness of the product.
We Prefer:
Reusable glass straws are an excellent option that are great for the environment. They are a better option than disposable paper straws which can contain water resistant coatings such as PFAS.
We also think stainless steel straws are a great choice. We do not have a lead concern for stainless steel and glass straws. Rainbow stainless finishes typically utilize titanium to achieve the look and not any concerning painted finishes.
When possible, we recommend that all items used by children in the kitchen be lead free, with the exception of trace lead in products that are leach tested, preferably under 90 ppm lead on surface coatings, which is considered to be within legal safety limits for children’ s products.
