This is a heavy deviled egg plate in a vintage style reminiscent of cut crystal. Anchor Hocking manufactured a similar looking plate in 1977. This plate was purchased new after 2020.

The sample was tested in consumer goods TestAll mode using a Niton XL3t 700S for 60 seconds. Results are rounded to the nearest whole number.
Test Summary:
The item is non-detect for lead, cadmium, arsenic, and mercury. The item tested is below the federal lead restrictions for children’s products which limits products intended for use by children 12 and under to 90-100 parts per million lead. However, the item is not a new children’s product and is not subject to these regulations.
Very trace antimony was detected. We do not have a concern for trace antimony or other heavy metals in glass.
We Prefer:
This plate is a great option by Anchor Hocking, one of our favorite companies that still manufactures some products domestically in the United States. This particular product is imported. New clear glass is typically lead free. Vintage and colored glass can sometimes contain trace heavy metals. We do not generally have a concern with trace heavy metals in glass unless the item is lead crystal. Crystal is typically very high in lead and may leech lead through the use of acidic food and drink. We also recommend avoiding glass with painted markings which can contain lead or cadmium in the paint. Anchor Hocking has a vintage Fire King egg plate with a gold rim and we do not recommend it.
When possible, we recommend that all items used by children in the kitchen be lead free, with the exception of trace lead in products that are leach tested, preferably under 90 ppm lead on surface coatings, which is considered to be within legal safety limits for children’ s products. Ordinary glass is an exception and we do not have a concern for glass with trace heavy metals exceeding this limit.
