These knives were purchased from IKEA in 2020. They are made of 410 low nickel stainless steel and have a firm plastic handle. The logo is etched. They have held up well over two years of use but the blades do eventually become dull.

Well, if you know our blog you know we are fans of stainless steel for cooking and serving. This knife works great, it’s economical, and it’s from IKEA, who restricts cadmium, lead, PFAS, and other toxic materials.
We think this is a great product and works as advertised.
We Prefer:
We like similar stainless steel utensils for our meals. To avoid lead we recommend passing on vintage and antique utensils made of unknown metals, mixed metals joined with solder, brass, or decorative enamel, crystal, or ceramic accents. For knives we avoid painted markings or finishes on the blade.
We recommend avoiding vintage plastic utensils, which can contain high levels of lead or BPA.
When possible, we recommend that all items used by children in the kitchen be lead free, with the exception of trace lead in products that are leach tested, preferably under 90 ppm lead on surface coatings, which is considered to be within legal safety limits for children’ s products.
