This product is a 430 stainless steel roasting pan. It is very affordable at around $20 at the time of this writing and the metal is thick walled and durable. The large size is 13” x 16” and big enough for a turkey. The logo is etched. There are swiveling handles attached via stainless plates.

We think this is a great product by a reputable company. Stainless steel has the capacity to leach nickel and chromium, so we rotate bakeware with stainless steel, glass, and cast iron. It’s worth mentioning here that this product is a low nickel stainless steel, as with many of IKEA’s stainless cooking and serving tools.
IKEA has a lot of better non-toxic options for the public when compared to other retailers, for a variety of substances. They not only restrict lead and cadmium, but they do not apply PFAS to their textiles and furnishings, which is a big selling point.
We Prefer:
Well, if you know our blog you know we are fans of stainless steel for cooking and serving. We favor stainless over plastic since plastic can leach chemicals into food through heat or prolonged contact.
We like similar stainless steel and glass baking pans. For a fat Thanksgiving turkey, a stainless roasting pan cannot be beat.
We recommend avoiding vintage glazed ceramic or enameled pans, which can contain high levels of lead. Those items will generally be leach tested per FDA requirements if they are from 1971 or newer, but finishes wear and chip over time. We prefer basic stainless and glass that will last for ages. We definitely want to avoid any cookware products coated with non-stick PFAS.
When possible, we recommend that all items used by children in the kitchen be lead free, with the exception of trace lead in products that are leach tested, preferably under 90 ppm lead on surface coatings, which is considered to be within legal safety limits for children’ s products.
